Designed with extremely fast, micro-second response with a wide amplitude and frequency range. These characteristics allow them to excel in high-frequency applications, where minimum sensor diameter is required. Can be used in applications such as combustion studies, air blast shockwaves, and airbag testing

Series 106 ICP® Dynamic Pressure Sensors measure low-level pressure and high-intensity sound pressure levels, both acoustic and ultrasonic. The 106B50 unit features built-in signal conditioning microelectronics to produce low-impedance voltage output signals. These all-welded, stainless steel units are suited for monitoring pulsations, turbulence, and noise in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Series 102B high frequency dynamic pressure sensors are structured with naturally piezoelectric, stable quartz sensing elements that are well-suited to measure rapidly-changing pressure over wide amplitude and frequency ranges. They feature micro-second response times and high resonant frequency. Solid-state construction, acceleration compensation, hermetically-sealed housings, and laser-welded flush diaphragms provide undistorted high frequency response and durability in adverse environmental conditions. ICP® technology provides a high signal-to-noise ratio and high-level voltage output, capable of driving long cables to a safe zone for data acquisition.
Typical applications include pulses and pressure fluctuations, fluid-borne noise detection, cavitation, high intensity acoustics, closed bomb combustion studies, explosive component performance (e.g. detonators and explosive bolts) and airbag testing. A popular application includes measurement of freefield, enclosed, and directed (shock tube) air blasts resulting from explosions or muzzle blasts.

Calibration data is provided electronically (on CD or USB memory stick) or as printed copies, depending on quantity rented and end-user preference.
The Modal Shop has internal calibration intervals set for most test products at 1 year. ANSI/ISO/IEC 17025:2000 makes clear that it is the responsibility of the end-user organization (in this case, the renter) to determine the appropriate calibration interval under the requirements of its own quality system. Per this, calibration certificates of rented equipment have "calibrated on" dates, but blank "calibration due" dates. Rentals ship with a customer specific expected return date in mind - if equipment is expected out for 5 months, the last calibration date will be within the past 7 months. Calibration to additional standards (e.g. Z540 or specific FAA requirements) are possible, but there may be an additional charge.
The Modal Shop's Scope of Accreditation can be found here. An example of a calibrations certificate can be found here. Please contact us with questions or if a different calibration will be needed for your rental sensors.
